Events Calendar

This calendar is provided not only to advertise events planned by the Committee but also to allow any Old Scholar to announce events which they are planning. If you are planning a get together of old pupils in your year, class etc, you may advertise it here. If you could provide a short write up after the event, perhaps with a photograph or two, for inclusion in the newsletter or on the website that would be great. If you would like to include an event in this calendar please email us.

Members, staff (past or present), Old Scholars or guests are all welcome to attend any of our social events or meetings, and that includes the committee meetings so please come along and find out what goes on as your ideas and contributions will be welcome.

Details of Social Event venues are published in the Newsletter or on the website. For more information and encouragement, please contact any of the committee.

Date Time Event Location
No new event information available to the website at present.
Visitors occasionally search the site looking for the school term dates or the dates of the staff training / development days when the school is open but not attended by pupils (a.k.a. 'Baker days', 'B-days', 'INSET days', 'CPD'). Rather than provide second hand information here may we refer you to the web site for the school itself and in particular to the Academic School Calendar.

The locations referred to above are as follows:

Lower School
Upper School
Location information for the two school sites is available on a separate page on the site.
The Upper School is the former Grammar School site, the Lower School the former Rowantree Secondary Modern site. The committee meetings had been held at the Lower School for a number of years but The Beehive acted as a backup venue for the 2007 AGM as the school was locked up and from 2008 the meetings are being held at the Upper School. If you do propose to attend it might be worth making you are in contact with one of the committee just to make sure there are no further issues with the venue.
Jolly Farmers
Jolly Farmers, 2 Enfield Road, Enfield EN2 7QS [map]
For 2007 the annual dinner was replaced by a semi-formal luncheon and the venue was the Jolly Farmers. This same arrangement is proposed for 2008. If you wish to use public transport the Jolly Farmers can be reached by the 121 and 307 buses which also serve Oakwood (Piccadilly Line), Enfield Chase (First Capital Connect), Enfield Town (one Railway) and Southbury (one Railway) stations.
The Plough
The Plough , Cattlegate Road, Crews Hill, Enfield EN2 9DJ [map]
The September 2007 lunch get together was switched to the Plough and this has been pencilled in as the venue for future lunches. It can be reached by public transport using either Crews Hill railway station or the W10 bus. The Plough has its own website.
